What is a MedSpa?

A MedSpa is an answer to modern-day beauty needs. MedSpas provide effective cosmetic procedures that can be non-invasive and can have little to no downtime. They combine the clinical care of medical professionals with the relaxation of a day spa. Depending on your treatment, our MedSpa services can reduce wrinkles, smooth skin, treat acne, improve the look of hyperpigmentation, and help target most skin concerns you may have. We encourage you to discuss your goals and expectations at your consultation.

Our MedSpa Services

Our MedSpa Services

Our MedSpa specializes in personalized treatments and we look forward to seeing your results after just one session. Your personalized appointment can include a skin analysis to help determine the best treatment for your concerns. These treatments may include a targeted facial, a series of chemical peels, a Microneedling session, and/or homecare to get your skin glowing. We recommend you consult with your provider to learn which treatment is best for your skin.

MedSpa Facials

MedSpa Facials v. Day Spa Facials

MedSpa Facials
Before you book an appointment for our MedSpa, you should know the difference between a MedSpa facial and a day spa facial. MedSpa facials take a more clinical approach to address your specific skin issues, while a day spa facial focuses more on pampering the skin. While a day spa might use soothing scented products to treat the outer layer of your skin, MedSpa facials use prescription-strength ingredients and medical-grade instruments to penetrate deeper layers.

MedSpa Chemical Peels

One of the most common procedures in a MedSpa is the chemical peel. A Chemical peel is a skin resurfacing treatment that uses a chemical solution. After a treatment, our chemical peels can help improve the appearance of pigmentation, texture and the overall health of the skin. Chemical peels also come in varying degrees of intensity to address a range of skin types and conditions. Depending on your skin type and the areas you want to be addressed, we will determine which chemical peel is best for you.

Superficial Peels

Superficial chemical peels are the gentlest chemical peels. They contain mild acids like alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) and beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) to gently exfoliate the outermost layer of the skin. AHA is the mildest of all chemical peels and is recommended for skin that is dehydrated, has fine lines, or has irregular pigmentation. BHA chemical peels help manage oil production and are best for acne-prone or congested skin. During your consultation, we will work together to determine what might be best for your skin.

Medium Peels

Medium-level chemical peels target the outer and middle layers of the skin to treat hyperpigmentation, sun damage, dark spots, deeper wrinkles, and acne scars. We recommend this level peel after the successful completion of a superficial peel.

Preparing For Your MedSpa Appointment

Before you attend your MedSpa appointment, there are some preparations you should know ahead of time. We want to make sure your skin is safe and properly cared for so you can look your best. To guarantee the best results from your MedSpa visit, we recommend that before your treatment you:

  • Do not have a prior treatment
  • Avoid skin irritants like retinol or acne treatments
  • Do not wax, tweeze, or shave before treatment
  • Do not tan at least one week prior
  • And have no botox or fillers one to two weeks before treatment

Complexion Analysis

To treat your skin, we first need to understand your skin. With your first appointment, you will be given a completion analysis. During this analysis, your provider will ask how you’d like to improve your skin, along with your skin’s history, your current skincare routine, and any skin health concerns. With your answers and the results of the analysis, your provider can then recommend a MedSpa treatment personalized to address your skin needs.

Skincare

We believe the best preventative care is your homecare. During your MedSpa appointment, your provider can create a skincare regimen tailored to your skin needs. Each of our medical skincare lines address different concerns so it’s important to discuss your needs with your provider.

After Your MedSpa Treatment

Following your MedSpa treatment, your skin will be a bit more sensitive and potentially more red than normal. This temporary reaction is typical for patients after their appointment. Here’s how you may be expected to care for your skin after your treatment:

  • Adhere to the post treatment care your provider gives you
  • Avoid picking or peeling the skin when and if your skin begins to flake
  • Avoid sun exposure for two weeks
  • Avoid hot showers and steam
  • Avoid waxing, tweezing, and shaving until your skin is no longer peeling
  • Avoid tanning booths
  • Avoid swimming or excessive sweating until two days after treatment
  • Avoid exfoliation
  • Every patient is different, and so is their skin. Your provider may recommend a different aftercare for you. Be sure to follow your provider’s advice for the best results. For optimal healing and long-lasting results, we recommend following a regular customized skincare regimen.
