When Breast Augmentation
is Not Enough

When a Breast Lift
is Not Enough
While a breast augmentation increases the size of breasts, a breast lift is more about improving the shape of the natural breast. A breast lift surgically removes excess skin and reshapes the breast mound while elevating the nipples to give the breasts a more youthful position and shape.
A breast lift cannot increase the size of your breasts; they may even look smaller because they are more compact. If you want to increase the size of your breasts or restore volume lost due to weight loss or pregnancy, a combination of breast augmentation and a breast lift is necessary. A breast lift also cannot give you fullness in the upper part of the breast—this requires breast implants.
