Information For Our Out-of-Town Patients
We accept out-of-town patients at Gayoso Plastic Surgery and Medspa, so if you live outside the Tampa Bay area and choose to work with us, here’s how you can prepare for your procedure.

Step 1: Your Consultation
Every procedure starts with a consultation with your provider. Ideally, we like to have it in person, whether you fly or drive in, but we understand that it may be difficult due to timing and availability.
If a Fly In Consultation Is Not Possible…
Virtual Consultation – We ask that you send photos that your provider will review. Based on the photo review, a zoom consultation is set up to discuss the surgical plan and answer any questions you may have.
Step 2: Scheduling
After your consultation, you can begin scheduling your surgery.
- One of our patient care coordinators will work with you to help you select your surgery date and your pre-operative date, which is typically one to two days before the surgery date based on your provider’s recommendations.
- A non-refundable deposit is collected with the final payment being due in full at the pre-operative appointment.
- The patient care coordinators will mail or email a pre-operative packet with preoperative information and informed consent for your review. We will review the paperwork and any related questions at the pre-operative appointment.
- If lab work or diagnostic testing is required, this will need to be done 30 days prior to your procedure. The patient care coordinator will give you all the details to ensure we have everything we need for your surgery.
- The pre-operative appointment typically will last 1 to 1.5 hours. During this appointment, we will finalize the surgical plan, review pre/postoperative teaching and education, take pre-operative photos, collect surgical fees, and review logistics for the day of the surgery.
Step 3: Surgery
Our plastic surgery procedures are performed at our fully accredited outpatient surgical center. You will be under the care of board-certified anesthesia doctors. Due to the anesthesia, you will need a driver and someone to take care of you for at least the first night. If you do not have one, we can assist you with some options.
Step 4: Recovery
Depending on your surgery and how far you live out of state from our office, plan on staying in the Tampa Bay area for one to two weeks as you heal. We want to make sure there are no complications during your recovery, so most of our post-operative appointments will take place during your length of stay.
Step 5: Virtual Follow-Up Appointments
We will arrange standard follow-up appointments via phone or zoom for your convenience. Many patients email post-operative photographs for review before the follow-up phone appointments with their provider to review.
