No. Although a thigh lift and liposuction are both body contouring procedures with the goal of improving the shape of your thighs, they are very different in what they can treat and the kind of results you can expect.
Liposuction, sometimes called lipoplasty, simply removes fat. If you want to get rid of excess fat in the thighs, liposuction may be a good treatment option. The problem is that you also need to have good skin tone. If you have good skin tone, your skin will contract after the fat is removed to give you smoother, slenderer thighs that look great. However, if you have poor skin tone, you will simply be left with loose excess skin after liposuction.
A thigh lift is a procedure that is designed to remove excess skin as well as excess fat. An outer thigh lift is in general a very good procedure for removing fat and tightening skin of the outer thigh, and is often performed as part of an extended tummy tuck. An inner thigh lift can also tighten skin in the inner thigh, but it does leave significant scarring. It is a good procedure if you want to look good in pants or slacks, but most people do not think it is a good tradeoff for improving their appearance in a swimsuit.
