The Procedure – How It’s Done
At your consultation with Dr. Gayoso, he will provide you with information regarding this procedure and examine you to see if you are a candidate. Patients who have moderate breast ptosis (sagging) are candidates for this limited incision procedure.
The lollipop breast lift technique includes two incisions: one made around the edge of the areola and the other running downwards vertically from the base of the areola to the inframammary crease. Once the incisions are made, both the nipple and areola are elevated to a new, more favorable position, and then the incisions are sutured. This ultimately renders the incision pattern in the shape of a lollipop.
Major Advantages over Other Techniques
Every breast lift technique is unique and has benefits and drawbacks compared to other techniques. For instance, the number of incisions made during the lollipop approach is fewer than that of the traditional breast lift procedure, which has an anchor style incision pattern. Vertical mastopexy procedure (‘lollipop technique’) can be favorable because of the limited number of incisions. However, not every patient is a candidate and Dr. Gayoso will help educate you on the best procedure for your breast lift.
