Unlike runners and shot putters, there is no Olympic gold for plastic surgeons. So it’s impossible to say who is the best plastic surgeon in the world. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t find the best plastic surgeon for you. Here’s how.
Step One
Talk to friends and family that you know have had plastic surgery. Talk to them about their experience with their surgeon, whether it was good or bad. Also ask them how they went about choosing their surgeon. The more thorough the process they went through, the more weight you should give to their recommendations. Add all recommendations to your list.
Step Two
Next, do some internet searches. Look specifically for the surgeons that have been recommended to you, but also look at some of the others in the area. Compare qualifications, making sure every surgeon is board-certified with licenses in good standing. You can check with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Florida Department of Health to be sure.
Try your best to evaluate potential surgeons’ aesthetic judgments. Before and after galleries are important, but so is the overall look and feel of a surgeon’s website. If the images on the site turn you off–even if they’re stock images–you may not want to work with that surgeon.
Lastely
Finally, schedule consultations with several (3-5) surgeons to make sure you find the right one for you. If none of the surgeons makes you feel completely comfortable, start the process again. You have only one body–you want to make sure you only put it in the hands of the best plastic surgeon for you.
